Freedom Week Campaign - Agenda item - Friday Morning No. 2

ECO is planning to provide "education & activiy" kits to the organizations that participate in Freedom Week. Each kit should contain material that will enable a group leader to conduct a series of "teach-ins" on each subject area. So far, I'm thinking that the following subject areas should be addressed:

1. The Foundation of Freedom
A. Identification & explanation of fundumental principles
B. Historic examples of each principle at work

2. The Land of the Free

A. How land use and control in private hands promotes prosperity and guarantees freedom
B. How land is used and controlled in other forms of government

3. The Home of the Brave

A. The other side of freedom is responsibility
B. Responding to threats to our freedom
C. Examples of threats with models for appropriate response
a. information on Biosphere Reserves
b. information on global warming
c. information on "consensus" process for policy making
d. etc.

Obviously, the contents of these packets need further thought and discussion. There is no way ECO can prepare everything that needs to be prepared with our little staff.

Should SI agree that this is a worthwhile thing to do, I would welcome volunteers to help develop any portion of this material. I'm fairly confident we can get the funding necessary to produce the packets and distribute them to participants.

Remember, this is at least a two-year campaign. I suspect that as the project gains momentum, these packets will be in constant demand.
